If you're interested in the history of photography this is pretty much one of the better reads. It gives you Stieglitz full-on in his own writings, lets you see how his thinking evolves and what he was actually valuing / promoting in his art and the art of others. He is sometimes infuriating but always interesting. Kind of a slog to get through but well worth it when you're done.
